PRO-602 FINO Base is a modern, ready-to-use polymer microcement designed to create decorative, seamless finishes on floors and walls. It provides a durable, easy-to-clean and waterproof surface with high adhesion and good mechanical resistance. With a 0.5mm grain, it is typically used as the first microcement layer before PRO-603 FINO Micro, but it can also be used as the final decorative coat where a slightly more textured finish is desired.
Intended Uses
PRO-602 FINO Base is suitable for use on a wide range of internal surfaces, including hallways, stairs, bathrooms and furniture board applications. It may be used over suitably prepared plaster, concrete, cement and anhydrite screeds, including underfloor heating, as well as old tiles, OSB, chipboard, MDF and glass. It is typically used as the first microcement layer before PRO-603 FINO Micro.
Why Choose PRO-602 FINO Base?
- Creates seamless decorative finishes on floors and walls
- Durable, waterproof and easy to clean
- Suitable as the first microcement coat in the FINO system
- Can also be used as the final coat for a more textured look
- Suitable for a wide range of internal substrates
- Good adhesion and mechanical resistance
Substrate Preparation
Substrates must be stable, sound and thoroughly clean before application. Substrate moisture must not exceed 4%. For anhydrite screeds, moisture content should not exceed 0.5% without underfloor heating and 0.3% with underfloor heating. The concrete class should be at least C16/20. Underfloor heating should be switched off 72 hours before application. In wet areas, suitable waterproofing should be used. Smooth, difficult and low-absorption substrates should be prepared with PRO-601 FINO Contact Primer.
Product Preparation
PRO-602 FINO Base is supplied ready to use and should be stirred thoroughly before application.
- Check tinted products against the order before use
- Use material from the same production batch across a single surface
- If needed, up to 1% clean water may be added to improve consistency
Application
Apply evenly using a stainless steel or rubber trowel, or an equivalent tool, at a maximum thickness of 1mm. Apply subsequent coats wet-on-wet, working towards the exit and without interrupting application. After approximately 4 hours, when the material is fully set, sand the surface using an orbital sander with 80 to 120 grit paper depending on the desired effect. Where a finer finish is required, PRO-603 FINO Micro should be used as the final coat. After the final microcement coat has dried for at least 12 hours, clean the surface and seal with PRO-604 FINO Pre Sealer if required, followed by at least two coats of PRO-605 FINO Top PU.
Application Conditions
Apply only when the air, substrate and product temperatures are between +15°C and +25°C. During work and drying, ventilate the room well but protect the area from strong draughts that could cause overly rapid drying.
