Intended Uses

PRO-570 Ready Mixed Plaster is intended for internal use only and is designed for smoothing internal walls and ceilings before decoration. It is suitable for use over cement-lime plasters, gypsum plasters, plasterboard, concrete and reinforced concrete, provided the background is sound, dry and correctly prepared. It is particularly well suited to projects where a smooth finish is required using hand, roller or machine application methods.

Substrate Preparation

Substrates must be clean, dry, stable and load-bearing before application. All backgrounds should be free from dust, grease, lubricants, release agents, paint residues and other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Unstable coatings and surfaces with insufficient adhesion should be removed, while oily or contaminated surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly before use. Joints between different substrates, installation chases and other areas prone to cracking should be reinforced with suitable glass fibre mesh where required.

Product Preparation

PRO-570 Ready Mixed Plaster is supplied ready to use and should be mixed thoroughly before application.

• Stir thoroughly before use
• For roller or machine application, a small addition of clean water may be made if needed
• Do not add more than approximately 1.7% water per unit
• Always mix thoroughly before adding any water
• Material that has begun to harden must not be re-mixed

Application

Apply PRO-570 Ready Mixed Plaster using a steel trowel, roller or suitable spray equipment. Spread the material evenly and work it firmly into the prepared substrate to achieve a smooth, uniform finish. The maximum recommended thickness is 2mm per coat. Where several coats are required, each successive coat should only be applied once the previous coat has set. Once the plaster layer is completely dry, any unevenness should be sanded by hand or mechanically using suitable abrasive paper or sanding cloth.

Application Conditions

Application should be carried out when air, substrate and product temperatures are between +5°C and +30°C. The surface must be dry, sound, fixed and free from dust, soot, algae, efflorescence and other contamination. Finishing works should only begin once walls and concrete elements have fully settled, dried and stabilised. Rooms should be ventilated after completion of the works.
