The Board of Directors has a clear framework for decision making on matters within their remit, supported by other non-board members of the Senior Management Team where appropriate. All directors are subject to our code of conduct and governance policies alongside employees to ensure a lawful and respectful working environment.
The decision-making process of the board is based on information and data, subject to Director review and discussion, in accordance with Section 172, and considers in good faith how the success will benefit stakeholders as a whole.

The Board of Directors understand the business is evolving alongside the market and environment it sits within. Any long-term decisions will be based on current information, with our customers and the environment at the heart of discussions to ensure any decisions made will avoid undesirable long-term effects and ensure the sustainable success of the strategy and company as a whole.
Employees are fundamental to the implementing the strategy of the business. Their success works in tandem with the business success. For this reason, we prioritise the engagement and development of our employees to build the business and ensure retention and onboarding of the best talent. We shall uphold all laws and regulations and ensure a safe and equal workplace for all, regardless of background, gender or culture. Regular employee surveys are performed to ensure feedback mechanisms in addition to our anonymous reporting initiative.
Maintaining good and mutually beneficial relationships with our customers and suppliers is paramount to upholding the business strategy. The Board has final prerogative in such matters and has set principles in place to decide approaches to seeking or maintaining relationships in line with Section 172.
Supplier evaluations based on ESG principles stand as a representation on the commitment to ensuring regulatory compliance and sharing best practise in the supply chain.
The supporting Senior Management Team provide updates to the Board of Directors on information and interactions with supply chain or customer members to ensure a regular flow of relevant information in decision-making.
Reducing the environmental impact of the company is an integral part of the business strategy, both globally and locally. From inception, EWI Store has endeavoured to be a part of the solution towards combating climate change, and this is reflected our operational practises. The companies hard earned ISO14001 accreditation reflects this dedication.
The Board of Directors receives reports and proposals from the supporting Senior Management Team on topics such as carbon footprint, waste management and resource reduction to facilitate incorporation of Environmental impact in decision making.
Our bespoke Code of Conduct and RESPECT framework ensure we decision making upholds the highest ethical business standards in accordance with good practise, health and safety, regulatory compliance and the law including modern slavery and equal opportunities.

The Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for the business direction and ensuring decisions are made in response to business success, whilst ensuring fairness for all stakeholders. As stakeholder interests can often be misaligned, the Board of Directors is committed to ensuring due diligence in the discussion and review process of decision making to ensure the fairness possible course of is undertaken.
We, as Directors, recognise our duties under Section 172 require ongoing attention to ensure evolving needs and expectations of stakeholders. The company regularly reviews policies to ensure we continue to act in the best interests of the company and stakeholders.
Ensuring open and clear communication with stakeholders is an important element in ensuring relevant improvements are being made, keeping us in line with market requirement and best practise.
