EWI-060 Mineral Render

The EWI-060 Mineral Render is a BBA-approved decorative render. It is designed to be either applied by hand or spray machine as part of an external insulation system or on a thin-coat render-only system. The Mineral Render needs to be sealed with an approved silicone external masonry paint to ensure the product performance is consistent.

Warning: without Silicone Paint application, the topcoat will not be sealed and will increase the risk of lime bloom. This render is suitable for application onto EPS and Mineral Wool external wall insulation systems. It is a fabulous finish when installing with the Mineral Wool system, as it helps to provide a completely breathable system.

The EWI-060 Mineral Render is sold in a standard 1.5mm grain size but is also available in three other grain sizes. Other grain sizes are subject to a minimum order quantity of 40 bags and an average delivery time of 5-10 working days.

Preparation:

Because this product comes as a dry mix, it needs combining with water before application. You can do this using a mechanical mixture or manually with a paddle mix.

Mineral Render Application

The render is applied to the substrate using a notched trowel. The render should be applied at a thickness that corresponds with the chosen grain size. For example, with a grain size of 1.5mm, the render should be applied at a 1.5mm thickness.

Once you’ve applied the Mineral Render it should take roughly 12 hours to dry (depending upon the weather conditions). Once set, you will need to use the EWI-005 Silicone paint to seal it. You can apply our silicone paint with a spray machine, a roller or simply by using a paintbrush.

Application Conditions

  • Render primer: EWI-330 Mineral/ Acrylic Primer
  • Application and setting temperature (air, substrate, materials): from +5°C to +25°C

Yes, Mineral Render can be applied using a spray machine. We have tested Mineral Render using the Euromair DropPro 8P Thin Coat Render Kit spray machine.

  1.       What grain sizes can you choose from?

Mineral Render is sold in a standard 1.5mm grain size but is also available in 1mm, 2mm, and 3 mm. These additional grain sizes are subject to a minimum order quantity of 40 bags and have an average delivery time of 5-10 working days.

  1.       How long does Mineral Render take to dry?

Mineral Render has an average drying time of 12 hours; however, in colder conditions drying time may be extended past this.

  1.       What temperatures can I use Mineral Render in?

You can use Mineral Render in a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C. Mineral Render is typically used during colder months due to the accelerated drying times compared to other renders, such as Silicone Render.

  2. Glen

Tested this mineral render on a couple of jobs in Hounslow. Easy to apply and the render went off nice and quick. Would use again.

Hi Glen, the EWI-060 Mineral render is perfect for use when the weather isn’t great because it does set far quicker than the Silicone / acrylic renders. It is ideal for use when it is cold or in particularly humid conditions. Anyway – glad you liked it! Please come back if you have any comments going forward!

      Thanks,

      James

  3. Filip Dimitrescu

Thank for 10% discount. Didn't no that beading hed to be buried in undercote and not on render. Easy when you no

  4. JessieLad

Cheap render but you need to paint after so takes more time then using just a through colour render.

  5. Jacob Todd

Does need painting after but cures much quicker than through-coloured renders

    • Alana

Our render selections have different advantages in different situations. I’m glad you are happy with the curing time 🙂
