EWI-212 High Polymer Render Coat is a high-performance, polymer-modified, cement-based render coat developed to deliver excellent adhesion, flexibility and durability on a wide range of backgrounds. It is designed to level and stabilise surfaces before the application of subsequent render layers or thin-coat finishes.
This versatile material performs especially well on dense or difficult substrates where traditional renders may struggle to bond properly. It can also be used as a scratch coat, helping to create a strong mechanical key for follow-on render systems.Â
Please note: EWI-212 High Polymer Render Coat is not intended for use as an insulation adhesive or basecoat.
Intended Uses
EWI-212 High Polymer Render Coat is suitable for use over blockwork, masonry, stone and dense backgrounds. It is also ideal for concrete and refurbished walls. For non-standard applications, technical advice should be sought before use.
Site Preparation
Before application, ensure the wall surface is sound, clean and free from loose render, plaster, dust or other contaminants. Any unstable material must be removed.
Prime the substrate where required:
Allow all primers to dry fully before proceeding.
Product Preparation
To prepare the material, add EWI-212 to clean water at a ratio of 6.5 litres per 25kg bag. Mix mechanically until a smooth, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes, then remix thoroughly before application.
Product Application
Apply EWI-212 to the prepared substrate using a trowel or spray machine at a thickness of 5-20mm.
While the material is still wet, fully embed a layer of reinforcing mesh into the render where required, ensuring it is laid flat, free from wrinkles and overlapped correctly at joints.
Where a subsequent coat with a heavier finish is required, lightly key the surface while the material is still workable. Alternatively, the surface can be floated to achieve a flat, even finish.
Application should be carried out in ambient temperatures between 5°C and 25°C.
