Metal Screw Fixings are installed by screwing the pin into place which offers more control during installation. They can also be gently hammered in if required. Metal Hammer Fixings are installed solely by impact. Both are strong but screw fixings offer more precision.

• Drill a straight hole and clear out debris

• Create a recess in the insulation for flush installation

• Insert the fixing and ensure the head sits level with the insulation

• Screw in the pin or tap it in

• Insert a thermo dowel cap

• Check the fixing is tight and sealed

Most systems require between 6 and 8 fixings per square metre. Always follow project specifications or system guidance for accurate fixing quantities.

You will need a drill and drill bit, a screwdriver or driver bit and a router or insulation cutter to create the recess. A hammer may also be used if tapping in the screw pin.
