UltraTile ProEco Gel is a standard-setting, thixotropic, flexible tile adhesive formulated with 30% recycled material, making it a more environmentally responsible choice without compromising on performance.
Designed with extended workability, enhanced adhesion and flexibility, ProEco Gel is ideal for areas subject to slight movement or vibration. Its gel formulation makes application easy and controlled, particularly when fixing large format tiles to walls and floors. The adhesive’s non-slump properties ensure tiles stay firmly in place, even at increased bed thicknesses.
Suitable for a wide range of internal wall and floor applications, including use over underfloor heating systems.
Preparation
All wall and floor substrates must be clean, dry, firm and stable, free from dust, dirt, oil and grease. Substrates should be sufficiently strong to support the combined weight of the adhesive and tiles.
For painted plasterboard or plaster finishes showing weak or flaky surfaces, mechanical sanding or hand sanding blocks should be used to remove the surface film.
Where substrates are affected by floor screed contamination, adhesive residues, weak laitance, or smooth dense finishes such as power-floated concrete, more intensive preparation is required. These surfaces should be mechanically scarified using specialist flooring equipment to expose a sound, stable substrate with a rough, open texture.
To achieve optimum adhesion, substrates should be primed prior to adhesive application in line with manufacturer guidance.
After sanding or mechanical abrasion, all fine dust and powder residues must be thoroughly removed using suitable vacuum equipment. Failure to remove residual dust is a common cause of adhesive and primer de-bonding. Using a wet sponge alone can spread dust rather than remove it, so vacuuming should always be carried out before any wet cleaning.
