PRO-313 Internal Grit Primer is a ready-to-use acrylic primer designed to prepare absorbent internal substrates before plastering and other internal finishing works. Where required, it may be diluted with clean water to suit substrate absorbency. It helps regulate surface suction, improve adhesion and create a uniform, vapour-permeable base for subsequent coatings. Its distinctive green tint also acts as a visual guide during application, helping to ensure even and complete coverage across the surface.
Intended Uses
PRO-313 Internal Grit Primer is intended for internal priming of porous, absorbent or weakened substrates before the application of plasters, gypsum adhesives and other internal finishing materials. It helps regulate substrate absorbency, improve bonding and support more uniform performance of subsequent coatings. It is suitable for internal mineral backgrounds such as masonry, plasterboard and previously plastered surfaces where improved adhesion and controlled suction are required.
Why Choose PRO-313 Internal Grit Primer?
- Ready-to-use acrylic primer for internal finishing preparation
- Helps regulate surface suction on absorbent backgrounds
- Improves adhesion for plasters, gypsum adhesives and other finishes
- Creates a uniform, vapour-permeable base
- Green tint helps show coverage during application
- Suitable for porous, absorbent and weakened internal substrates
- Can be diluted to suit different levels of substrate absorbency
Substrate Preparation
Substrates must be clean, sound, dry and stable before application. Surfaces must be free from dust, grease, oils, release agents, loose material, efflorescence and other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Any cracks, voids or damaged areas should be repaired with a suitable material and allowed to dry fully before priming. Adjacent building elements and finished surfaces should be protected before application.
Product Preparation
PRO-313 Internal Grit Primer is supplied ready to use and should be stirred thoroughly before application to ensure an even dispersion of solids. Where required, the product may be diluted with clean water depending on substrate absorbency.
- 1:1 for highly absorbent substrates
- 1:2 for moderately absorbent substrates
- 1:3 for low-absorbency substrates
- Do not mix with other materials or additives
Application
Apply the primer evenly by brush, roller or suitable spray equipment to achieve full surface coverage. The material should be worked well into the substrate so that absorbency is regulated consistently across the full area. Under suitable conditions, drying time is approximately 2 hours. Subsequent plastering or finishing works should only begin once the primer coat has dried sufficiently, with around 12 hours recommended before following trades proceed.
Application Conditions
Apply PRO-313 Internal Grit Primer when both air and substrate temperatures are between +5°C and +25°C. The substrate must be clean, firm, dry, stable and free from cracks, salt deposits and contamination of any kind. All stated technical figures are based on a temperature of +20°C.
