STS 12mm Render Carrier Board is a heavy-duty fibre cement construction board designed for both internal and external applications. Commonly used as a render carrier board, it provides a stable, weather-resistant and impact-resistant surface for thin-coat render systems, including silicone render systems and external wall insulation build-ups. Its fibre cement composition makes it moisture resistant, dimensionally stable and suitable where a robust non-combustible board is required. STS also states the board is Class A1 fire rated and suitable for use in applications where fire performance is important.

As well as façade and render system use, the board is also sold for a range of general construction applications such as tile backing, fire protection areas and other internal or external boarding projects where strength, moisture resistance and fire performance are needed. Merchant listings also reference uses including party walls, stove surrounds, ceilings requiring fire performance, spandrel panels and timber floor overboarding before tiling. Those wider application examples appear consistently in merchant listings, though the render-carrier role is the clearest manufacturer-led positioning.
