Why Choose EWI Pro Premium Bio Silicone Render?

At EWI Store, we are proud to sell a range of silicone renders. Silicone render is the new kid on the block in terms of render, and is quickly becoming the product of choice up and down the country. There are several reasons for this, including the fact it is resistant to cracking, it is available in an almost limitless number of colours and textures and being Silicone based, it is self cleaning.

Here, at EWI Store, we offer 4 types of silicone render which are designed for different rendering types to fit your needs.

In this blog, we look at these different types of silicone render, and then focus specifically on one of our best sellers- the Premium Bio Silicone Render.

Read on to find out more.

What Are the 4 Types of Silicone Render?

The 4 kinds of silicone render we have at EWI Store are:

  • EWI-040 Silicone Silicate Render
  • EWI-075 Silicone Render
  • EWI-076 Premium Bio Silicone Render
  • EWI-077 Nano Drex Silicone Render

All 4 silicone render products have lightly different characteristics, however they have 3 main properties that tie them together:

  1. Hydrophobic (self-cleaning)
  2. Flexible
  3. Breathable

Hydrophobic

All the silicone renders are self-cleaning, which means they are highly water repellent. Water droplets form beads on the surface and simply roll off the wall without penetrating it. Because of this, it helps eliminate any growth on the surface of your render, since the beads of water capture any contaminants as they travel down the surface of the render, hence we refer to silicone renders as self-cleaning.

Flexible

Flexibility is an integral part of our silicone renders because it adjusts to structural movements without cracking. Unlike traditional sand and cement renders or even monocouche renders, Silicone renders very rarely crack, providing a robust, long-lasting finish.

Breathable

All the silicone renders are made from polymer-modified render. Our thin coat renders are highly breathable and vapour permeable. Silicone renders are perfect to use in conjunction with both Mineral Wool and Wood Fibre external wall insulation systems to provide a completely breathable system.

What makes Premium Bio Silicone Render stand out?

The EWI-076 Premium Bio Silicone Render carriers the 3 qualities of silicone render. However, we recommend using the high-quality product mainly because it contains a slow release biocide. This means is that it tackles organic growth by breaking down any sign of algae and plant growth- helping the walls of the building stay cleaner for longer.

These features make this render a great match for properties that are in environment with high vegetation and exposed to organic plant growth.

The Premium Bio Silicone render is also incredibly tough, making it the perfect choice for buildings situated in areas that are prone to high levels of weathering, for example the coast.

Also, the other advantages of Premium Bio are:

  • Long-lasting
  • Available in thousands of colours
  • Increased impact resistance
  • Enhanced UV resistance
  • Advanced thin coat render

  1. Your silicone and acrylic renders, once these are applied how do you finish them ?? Same as k rend or do you float them off soon as they’ve been applied ? Many thanks for your help

    1. Silicone and acrylic are thin coat renders – they need to be finished with a plastic render float. It is important that the thickness of the render layer matches the grain size. For example 1.5mm Silicone render should only be 1.5mm thick (basically only 1 grain). This ensures a consistent finish and maintains the flexibility of the system.
