Premium Basecoat (EWI-225) - 25kg
SKU: EWI-225
Reviews & Ratings
Right, price is far too high for this. Felt only slightly stronger than EWI-220, nowhere near premium money.
Goes on like butter sets like rock. Spot on.
Top kit. Sticks MW boards like glue, decent work time and zero slump. Sorted!
awful. dry mix was clumpy so its no good for EWI. why would they ship 25kg bags with NO DATE STAMP so you cant even check the shelf life? it set far too quickly way less than the 2hr pot life. obvious i got old stock. cracking straight away. pure time-waster.
Excellent reinforcement layer, far superior to the 220. Had to re-mix one bucket gthat went stiff fast. Good product, but the render-only coverage on blocks could be better for the price.
The delivery failed to arrive, and I was not afforded even the courtesy of a telephone call to inform me. I found myself waiting quite unnecessarily, which was both inconvenient and rather bewildering
Proper high-strength basecoat. Didn't slump at all for the 6mm layer saved us loads of time over that budget 220.
Top strength, proper job. Will reorder.
Absolutely love this base coat. It levels perfectly and holds the mesh really well
Used the 225 Premium Base Coat on an external insulation job — no cracking, smooth coverage, excellent adhesion
The EWI-225 spreads beautifully and creates such a strong bond. I’ve used plenty of base coats, but this one stands out for consistency
Cracking basecoat! Feathered out spot on near the windows and the mess just cleaned off the trowel. Cut the snags right down. Sorted!
Proper strong. Got the accurate coverage rate advertised.
Basecoat mixed brilliant, smooth spread, works good. Flex and strength miles better than 220. Held up spot on in cooler air!
This is the essential basecoat everyone needs. I have been using this product for the past couple projects and I would never use anything else again. This basecoat is smooth, easy to work with and mixes like a dream
Mix was perfect. High polymer meant it was strong as an ox but the overall system weight was low. Feathered lovely for the 6mm. Top quality brill!
proper strong adhesive layer. Use this for MW and it absolutely grips, the high poly count is clear. Main reason for 4 stars is watching your coverage: the extra kg/m
for Mineral Wool means the bags don't stretch as far compared to fixing EPS. You have to order more, simple as. Still outstanding value when you compare it to Weber. Good stuff, will be ordering again for our EWI jobs.
Brill basecoat. Took some time to get the knack right.
Late delivery, bags damp & short supply! "Premium" EWI-225 is pure faff; coarse mix, zero flexibillity & just too heavy for render boards. Wasted my time.
Switched entirely to EWI-225 for my rendering projects. Quality is unmatched
Didn't slip bedding Mineral Wool. That premium bond makes the whole system SOLID.
Brilliant stuf. Used it on the Mineral Wool and it stuck solid definitely strong. Felt way better on the trowel too.
absolute quality basecoat for my mineral wool. way better strength and flexibility than the cheaper ewi-220.
Mixed perfect consistency, spread easy and cured rock solid with zero flex issues. Worth the money, proepr premium stuff. Job done and sorted.
strong Basecoat, huge upgrade on 220. Tricky water amount.
wORST BASECOAT. delivered damaged cos the packaginv is flimsy. this high polymer stuff fajiled entirely on the RCB substrate it promises to work on. reinforced layer feels weak + brittle. waste of effort and time!
Best basecoat I've ever used.
great strength, high price.
EWI-225 is proper BC, dead strong on MW. Mix needs more water than stated though, and cure was a touch slow. Solid adh, worth the extra quid.
Awful! Driver dropped the soaked bag. Wasted the day waiting. Mix was Lumpy SLOP. Failed to bond the mineral wool boards ovenright! Absolute failure, it slumped right off the render board. NO BATCH NUMBER either. This is total ubbish.
Top quality. Adhesion was spot on.
Worth the premium. Strongest muck I've used zero issues embedding mesh. Quality.
Brill stuff, mixes proper smooth. Held the Rockwool perfectly and has great mesh grab.
Mixed bang on and grips like hell. Worth the extra!
High-strength 225 beats the EWI-220, but need smaller 10kg packs.
stronger than 220, A1 mix. Delivery late.
Saved time not needing primer first. Sticks hard. Decent grip, solid skim.
When I spoke to technical and was advised this is best done in two coats over 2 days then the 2nd coat will pull in quicker and can be rubbed up after about an hour. I found this product easier than most basecoats.
Cracking gear. This 225 stuck the K5 boards solid. Right on the button consistency. Proper premium stuff.
Brilliant adh strength, superior to 220. Very high polymer quality stuff. BUT mixing was awful, heavy dust and lumpy. Needed way more water than the 5.9L guide to make it trowel-able. Went off too quick for 2hrs. Also, got way less coverage on my brick/block than the quoted 2.5m2. Pricey when the coverage is tight. Driver was sound, helped offload the heavy bags. Pretty satisfied overall.
Strong gear, massive grab on the Kingspan. Had to rush a bit near the 2hr workability time.
Used this on my home renovation it went on like butter and set rock solid
Stronger than expectefd worked a charm.
Top gear. Consistency was spot on, didn't slump once! Holds the fibreglass mesh really well.
Excellent strength and works good. Sorted.
Premium is right! Goes up so smooth and the adhesion is spot on, zero lifting. Beats EWI-220 hands down for strength. Brill.
Mixed dead easy. Perfect consistency, way better than the 220. Rock solie finish for the Mineral Wool! Proper value for money.
Tricky to work with at first but once get a grip of it the best basecoat I have used.
Great product to use, works with every insulation and render only! price ok
Top quality proper solid gear
Sound bit of kit. Stuck the Mineral Wool fast, set well. The scratch coat is proper solid. Worth paying for this strength.
Smelled proper potent, really tacky on the trowel an' the coverage felt dead optimistic
Great stuff! Mix was clumpy refused to paddle blend properly. Went off in the tub in less than a hour. Rubbish.
cracking high-spec adh/basecoat. Used this on Mineral Wool fix and for the final base layer/mesh on render only; held solid and didn't get any slumping which is always a plus. Feels seriously tough once cured, they weren't lying about the polymer content. Mixing needed a bit more water than the 'minimum' guide to get the right throw, and yeah, it needed that second paddle blitz after the rest period to properly clear the lumpsbit of a faff, but worth it for the final consistency. Price is fair for high-strength gear. Delivery was quick, driver helped sling the bag where I needed it. Would buy again. Coverage was tight to spec, but did the job.
Strong bond, dead on. Too gritty skimming against a level though.
Better quality than EWI-220. Cracking adh.
Brill! This is proper solid basecoat, consistency was spot on for trowelling. Set miles stronger than competitor tubs. Sound.
Worked perfect on Mineral Wool adhesive. Consistency was brilliant. Worth the extra quid.
absolutely brill stuff much stronger than standard! Locked down Kingspan K5 proper. The finish is robust spot on!
Strong poly-adh. Needed a slight water tweak; little draggy. Sound kit.
The bag was proper rough when delivered; must have had water ingress. The muck went clumpy straight off and flashed off way too quick. Hard to work it flat over the mesh dragged the trowel bad. Not worth the premium price when cheaper alternatives are better.
Adhered MW perfectly, real strong coat. Just sets fast in warmth & coverage feels low for premium cost.
outperforms other basecoats!
Proper job this, sets dead strong and the flex means you get no hairline cracks.
Used it for Roxkwool held the boards solid. Proper premium stuff.
Very good basecoat to use. My favorite
Solid. Mix off a bit initially but came godo quick.
Go-to basecoat. Held Mineral Wool perfectly.
Properly premium adhesive for Rockwool. Stuck firm and the reinforcement layer is rock solid & flexy. Glad I went for this over the EWI-220.
EWI-225 adh works great on Mineral Wool, strong stuff. Just needs a tad more awter than the min mix specified.
Worth the upvrade. Rock solid!
Rock solid! Proper gear, this. Mixed up zweet as you like and gives a brilliant coat thickness. You feel the strength from the polymers instantly—worth every penny over the basic stuff like the 220, especially for our Mineral Wool boards. Long-term durability sorted. Bang on.
Used it on MW boards. Mixes clean and spreads spot on, seriously good bond. Coverage rates meant we ordered fewer bags than usual. Proper strong stuff!
brill adh for MW/WFB. Miles better than 220. Had to add extra water (more than 5.9L) as it felt too stiff. Pot life was quick on the warm days (~90 mins). Top strength once cured.
great adh/basecoat on Kingspan K5. Texture for trowelling was spot on, felt proper strong. Only 4 stars 'cos that 10 min rest/remix really slows the job down.
I’ve been using the Premium Basecoat (EWI-225) for a few projects now, and I have to say it’s one of the best basecoats I’ve worked with. The consistency is spot-on — it mixes easily and spreads really smoothly, which saves a lot of time on site. You can tell it’s a quality product as soon as you start applying it.
ixing this was a proper faff, left small lumps that were tough to shift. Felt far too tacky on the trowel and needed moer water tahn stated... The low coverage meant it’s pricey for the bag too. Took ages to dry when the air temp dropped a bit mate.
Cracking job. Mixes up nice and works easy into the mesh. White cement is the way to go for high strength systems. Spot on.
Quality binder, far superior to 220. Holds firm, zero sag. Switched to 225 only.
Proper sttong stuff! Much better than 220.
Proper basecoat, well above EWI-220 quality. High polymer content obvious when fixing heavy MW/K5 boards
But the mix stage was messy. Dust kicked up a proper cloud. Required more than >5.9L water + longer rest time than the datasheet said to get a workable texture. Trowel draw-off was just shy of perfect, competitor felt smoother.
Coverage was under the 2.5m² on block/brick too. Docs need better clarity on EWI-301 vs EWI-310 primer selection.
Price is high; delivery fees for one 25kg bag were extortionate. Bag is a heavy sod. Finished reinforcement layer is excellent and strong. A reliable adhesive, mind, if you can tolerate the dust.
Proper strong BC/adh for Min Wool way bdtter than 220. Mix was proper effort and the 2hr usable time felt tight on a warm day. Key is excellent though, fair price, and delivery spot on.
Better than the alternatives used before. Mixed easy consistency was spot on, very flexible. Top quality kit.
Used on render-only job. Great bond, but felt proper rushed on the 2 hour working time.
Premium is right, it 's proper strong stuff. Don 't waste cash on budget.
Rock solid bond. Top kit.
This is cracking stuff for the basecoat/mesh layer. The high polymer content makes it feel stronger than other adh mixes for Mineral Wool, and the cured finish is solid as a rock. Great workability too. Only dropped a star because the social media discount code wouldn’t auto-apply at checkout—had to faff around with customer service to manually sort the final price. That time sink on the clock is a real nuisance. Product is top quality and I’ll be re-ordering.
Brill! Cracking strong basecoat. It's got the polymer you need. Warning though, I had to re-mix after the 10min rest; goes stiff fast!
great stuff! Decent basecoat adh, grips the MW fine. Very strong. BUT the yield is tight on boards - ran short on material calcs. Budget for extra bags vs the advertised coverage.
Brill! Decent basecoat. Proper quality, no issue cracking.
Brill BC mix for strength but the specified notch drags heavy. Came on a bit thick, slows down the final tlatten.
Sets solid skims dead easy. Strong flexible base. Recommended!
Superior to the EWI-220 range. Great stuff for heavy mineral wool insulation boards. Mixes like a dream, levels well.
it's an average basecoat. That 5-10 min mix rest wrecked the job timing plus the coverage was poor. Just a marginal step up from the cheap 220.
Spot on Basecoat! Got instant grab uwing this for 100mm Mineral Wool. So much easier when the board doesn't try to slide off the wall.
Goes on like butter, sets rock sopid. Top gear!
Great stuff! This EWI-225 is brill, properly holds Mineral Wool to the wall rock solid and the finished layer feels totally bombproof. We used it for both the adhesive and the mesh coat in one go. Mixed up fine
needed a drop more water than the guide to get the right feel, but that's normal site conditions I guess. Only reason for four stars is the price tag; it's premium kit and performs as such, but definitely not the cheapest basecoat you can get hold of.
Rock solid bond worth the money!
Used this on the K5 and the base layer. Mixing was spot on. Got the 6mm down easy for the mesh. Adhesion is proper sound. Way better than the 220 basecoat. Worth the cash.
troweled lovely, defo the best basecoat for Mineral Wool. It's proper solid for the reinforcement layer.
Premium product worth the extra cost. Goes on like butter and sets absolutely rock solid. Brill!
Brill product, mix consistency was perfect, very strong bond.
Sorted the heavy Rockwool. Perfect grab, no slump.
Better than the 220. Went on like butter. Brill.
Top-drawer adh, rock-solid finish. but for 'render only' on rough block, they should've added a proper note about priming the surface. minor faff but sorted.
Strong Rockwool fix, but coverage was poor.
worth the premium. Strength is solid but mix rest feels slow.
Proper strong for Mineral Wool. Kept consistency for the 2 hour pot life—made the graft easier.
Proper strong basecoat. Takes Mineral Wool fine & it mixes xsound. Much stronger than the rest.
Proper strong stuff! Sorted.
Polymer bindfrs gave serious strength. Goes on lovely, way better than the expensive alternatives.
Mixed dead easy. Rock solid.
Miles better than the 220.
brilliant strength and perfect mix consistency straight away. The best render-only basecoat.
This is proper gear for Mineral Wool. Mixes spot on and is much tougher than EWI-220.
absolutely rubbish. the fibre quality control on this ewi-225 is shocking its full of massive clumps of polymer fibre which makes the mix totally sludgy and uneven trying to work with it on the wall was a proper ball ache cos the clumps blocked the notched trowel and took forever to knock out before i could embed the mesh properly its definitely not premium its garbage QC save your money mate.
Proper strong basecoat. Used on Mineral Wool and K5. Held solid, didn't slip. Saves time.
Best basecoat. Priper job.
Solid gear top adh. Used 6.2L per bag for best consistency. But the pot life tightens too fast when site temps hit 22C; demanding on the arm, but the final cure is rock hard.
Solid adh for Mineral Wool and K5. Better than 220, but it was too sticky to easily work with on the hawk.
Spread on like butter and set rock solid. Sorted.
Cracking stuff went on like butter. Much better bonding than the cheap gear. Set rock solid on the K5.
Sticks great. Right sturdy stuff.
Pukka gear, dead strong for basecoat!Good strong product, lives up to the hype on durability and strength for a full external render system. Stuck the Mineral Wool boards down secure, no problem, and made a strong reinforcement layer over the mesh. It sets quickly once applied, which is a big bonus. Was a bit of a pig to knock up initially compared to other stuff I
Reme used, and I needed a tiny tweak to the water ratio on the site to get the consistency perfect. Trowelling felt a touch too grabby compared to my old gear, but you get used to it. The delivery driver was spot on though, and bagged the 25kg packs exactly where I asked on site. The only real issue for me was that the coverage (render only on brick/block) was slightly under the 2.5m
Reml² quoted, and the bag is always a heft lifting onto the scaffold alone. But overall, decent kit and good value. Would definitely buy this basecoat again.
Cracking basecoat for the K5. Sound.
I’d definitely recommend EWI-225 Premium Basecoat to anyone doing EWI systems or external rendering. It’s dependable, easy to work with, and gives a professional finish every time.
Switched from the 220. Well worth the extra bob. Mint consistency meant quick application & zero sag. Holds the Kingspan rock-solid.
Worth the extra coin. Polymer strength is spot on and the mix was perfect. Got better coverage than I expected on the boards. Top notch!
★★★★★
Review Title: Spot On Gear
Review Text: Right, this EWI-225 is brilliant stuff, proper polymer power in the bag. Needed it for sticking down some heavy Mineral Wool insulation and it held fast, even used the dab-and-perimeter method and it worked perfect. Followed the water ratio and it mixed up a treat, easy consistency which saved my shoulders for once. Had a good two hours workable time, didn't start grabbing up fast on me. Got the 6mm layer down and meshed in easy-peasy. Yeah, the bag arrived slightly banged up from the courier (nit-picking for 5 stars!), but the mix inside was bone dry so no real issue there then. Way stronger than that other stuff I used to buy. Price felt justified for the superior finish and strength you get. Highly recommend, cracking stuff.
Solid K5/Rockwool adh/basecoat. Mixes up clean. Worth paying extra quid.
Proper solid. Will only use this now.
Simply the best basecoat I've used. Bond is unreal. No comparison.
Flxible layer made. Sets fast in heat.
EWI-225 is serious kit. The adhesion is mint for Mineral Wool. Mixing feels like a faff with the 10 min rest, but it dries bang on.
Adhesion is class. Spread a treat and ured hard enough to trust 100%. Won't use anything else now.
Rock solid. Beats cheaper alternatives for durability.
Proper strong bit of kit way better than the 220 I used last job.
Seriously strong gar. Mixes up spot on. Fixed the Kingspan K5 like a rock and ideal for render. Best basecoat.
Proper solid basecoat, sorted.
Easiest mix ecer. Took the heavy Rockwool a treat and trowels out really nice!
EWI-225 is bang on. Mixes great and works good for a proper long time. Solid reinforcement layer.
Adhesion sound. Used more bsgs on the MW.
Absolute mint kit for boards.
Brilliant for Rockwool. High-strength bond spreads proper well. Not cheap, but worth it.
Cracking EWI Basecoat. Went on lik butter and sets proper rock solid.
Rock solid adhesion. Sorted.
cracking stuff easy trowel set rock solid.
Proper strong poly basecoat brilliant grab for my Wood Fibre boadds. Found the mix time a wee bit short though had to rush. Decent stuff mind.
spot on base. Sets fast on hot site days.
Went on like butter, good bond.
brill! Sorted the Mineral Wool adhesion no problem and felt proper strong when setting. Highly recommend.
Used for Rockwool fixing, spot on. Much better than that EWI-220.
Amazing! Late delivery bag was split so started running short instantly. This "Premium" render is rubbish QC; came out lumpy even following the daft instructions. Set time went off way too quick maybe 45 mins, not the stated 2 hours. Coverage massively optimistic. Final layer feels soft and already cracked slightly on a cold night. Job cost me time and money. Driver was spot on though.
Proper BC kit. Trowelling took more effort. Brill grip on MW.
absolute class, goes on easy and tough.
EWI-225 is spot on for K5 insulation. Premium kit that won't crack later on.
Strong stuff. Better than EWI-220 trowels easily, holds the mesh perfectly. Top job!
Proper tough basecoat! Superior to the 220 for render-only jobs. Keeps its body at high build so it doesn't run off the boards. Five stars.
This stuff's great. Used on MW and K5. Spot on consistency, and set rock hard after cure. Highly recommended.
brill adh. Top quality polymer strength on K5/Render Only. Solid stuff. Shame about the slow mix rest time and high price point.
DON'T BUY THIS EWI225. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. SET OFF INSTANTLY. TOTAL PIG TO WERK WITH MATE.
Proper robust basecoat, far better strength than the cheaper 220 or Weber options. Saves me money versus high-end specs.
Consistent batch. Mixes easily and pulls up lovely for the reinforcement laer. Top quality!
Brill suff. Held the MW solid noticeably stronger! Proper dual-use.
Adh for Min Wool spot on, proper strength. But pricey and edges wee a faff to clean.
Adhesion was ok but had a patchy cure rate. Not really premium performance for the extra cash.
Cracking kit. Way stronger than the 220 basecoat and trowels out a dream zero slump. Buying this for every EWI job now.
Cracking basecoat for Min-Wool/K5, serious grip, miles better than the 220. BUT 25kg of the stuff is a proper pig to lug up the scaffold.
Went on like butter, set proper solid. Sorted.
Miles better than the EWI-220, really high strength and stuck the boards fast. Mixed up easy and gives you confidence for a proper job.
Strongest stuff yet, dead easy to mix. Good pot life as well.
Mixed brilliant. Very strong final layer.
Coverage rate was terribkle, only 4kg/m2 on the mineral wool. Felt like I overpaid for basic mix performance didn't get the high flex promidsed.
ok mix but dries too quick for warm job. coverage average. missing mesh stop beads in the delivery too!
Worth the money. Proper solid gripped the rockwool great. Cracking stuff.
The driver was a joke, staff seemed to care zero. The basecoat split every single time I re-mixed it after the rest time—just went watery on top. Total rubbish consistency for a supposed 'premium' adhesive. Expensive faff that cured weak.
Top Adh. Excellent consistency & hugely strong. Used it on Wood Fibre, grips brilliantly. Premium price means I expected more than 2.5m² yield on my rough substrate.
Solid kit. Good Adh. Needed extra water/mixing graft to stop it being a thick cow, and it went a pig on that one damp patch. Worth the price though.
Proper basecoat. Trowels brilliantly and locks mesh tight even near 5°C. Bang on.
Super Strong Basecoat. Brill. This EWI-225 is miles ahead for render work. That high concentration polymer content makes the final reinforcement layer feel incredibly robust, well worth the few quid extra vs the weaker stuff. We used it for render carrier board, troweled it out dead smooth after the 10 min rest. Delivered faster then expected and the driver was spot on helping get the heavy bags off. Great value for the quality you get.
total RUBBJSH. hours trying to get the claggy lumps out. didnt adhere well to the board felt chalky NOT premium flexible reinforcement. old batch useless strength. never again.
Stronger than 220, used less material on the Rockwool. Great finish, solid as a rock!
Quality mix. Held rockwool well.
Used this on a tricky MW render job this week. Mixed easy, zerko slumping. Mesh sat nice, solid finish. Cracking stuff.
Top quality basecoat mate, perfect flexibility and hold for Rockwool boards. Strongest I use.
Rock solid bond for Kingspan. Mixed fast, my new main base.
OK mix but consistency varied had to use more water than spec’d, coverage low on the blockwork. Bit pricey.
#### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Quality basecoat but mixing is a faff**
Used the 225 for adhesive and basecoat on Kingspan K5 and some Mineral Wool boars last week. Adhered fantastically 3-dab method stuck firm. The strength is definitely there; oncd it cures the flexibility is noticeably superior—feels robust against moevment. Sets quickly enough but isn't too rushed which is good.
**Right** couple of on-site gripes that dropped it a star.
1. It's too stiff on the stated water quantity. Had to add extra to get decent trowel flow needed much more pliability.
2. The mandatory 10-minute rest and re-mix is dead time on site total pain. Makes forward planning harder.
3. The coverage was slightly less than quoted for my blockwork. Not a dealbreaker but throws your material estimate off slightly.
Also it is hard work getting 25kg bags up three flights of ladders and it’s **really** sticky for cleaning buckets afterwards.
It’s a good product because the finished performance is top tier so I'd use it again for high-flex jobs. Worth the competitive price, to be fair.
Top gear for the money. Easy mix gave max usability time. Gripped the boards fast and that +5C temp range proper sorted our schedule.
Proper good strength. K5 boards stuck fast! Tidy!
Adhesion for Mineral Wool is spot on. Mixes up quick and embeds mesh clean. Solid stuff.
Ace! Made the base for the render absolutely solid. Held the Kingspan K5 great.
Brilliant stuff. Dead on for my K5 boards. Never lets me down.
The ticket for Rockwool basecoat, strong bond and no slump. Solid material.
Saved the day! Consistency spot on. Proper rock solid for K5 boards.
Best basecoat on the market. Mixes out perfect and the set is rock solid for reinforcement. Massive time saver over 220.
Proper strong gear! Adhesion is clas. Just a bit pricy, and coverage was short on my brick sub.
Solid Basecoat. It cures quick and strong, but the working time on a hot day is tight. Good value, though.
Strong polymer, sound once set. But the clumpy powder was a faff, mate, and tryin' to get the 6mm reinforcement layer right was tricky. Dryin time felt too long for a decent flow. And that 3m2 coverage felt well optimistic.
top kit for Mineral Wool, but the work time in the heat is a fff.
Premium is right it grips Mineral Wool board perfect. Spot on.
Absolute belter. Used this for sticking the Rockwool boards AND for the final basecoat layer too. Saved us loads of aggro not having to swap materials onsite. Yeah it cost more than the standard stuff but the flexibility is well worth paying for; its noticeably stronger. Lays smooth and gave us a nice strong finish over the mseh. Cant fault it.
Strong stuff. No lsump kept body.
Great BC/Adh mix. Used for Mineral Wool and render layers, strong finish (better than 220). Price is high but quality is top notch. Trowel-out was hard work, though; the mix felt rushed.
Miles better than cheap basecoats. Really strong bobd, gives confidence for a durable finish. Sorted.
Proper strong basecoat. Miles better than the EWI-220. Grips those tricky Mineral Wool boards tight. Sorted and highly recommended!
Best basecoat I've used this year. Went on like butter and dead solid.
This stuff bonds Rockwool solid. Saves cash too cos the extra powder don't go off quick.
EWI-225 is onpy ok. It took a good whisking to break up the mix, it felt quiet heavy on the trowel compared to the kother gear. Average coverage, ended up well short on sqm budgeted. Its not really a "premium" produtc, too much hard graft for the price paid.
Cracking basecoat. Proper srtrength for render.
Clumpy mix, far too fiddly, felt oversold as 'Premium' compared to the price. Short tack/open time forced rushing fixing the Mineral Wool boards. Used too much material, the coverage spec is way off. Average product, not worth the fuss, driver was zero help either.
Easy mix and zero slump. Basecoat gives a dead solid key. Top-tirr quality!
this premium basecoat's quality is sound. Good flex, adheres well to K5 boards. Works fine for both the fixing/skim layer. A bit sticky to trowel sometimes & bags are heavy.
Brill product, great for anchoring Min Wool. Final skim coat is properly strong and flexible. Just wish the water mix ratio wasn't such a guess sometimes.
Sorted! It's dead easy to mix, worked great for Mineral Wool & Kingspan. Finish is rock solid, way better quality than expected for the price.
uTTER RUBBISH mate. it set SOLID after the second mix, probably 30 mins, NOT the 2 hohurs you promised. Binned nearly half a bag of the expensive stuff! SHOCKING qualihty.
Mix was fussy it settled quick after rest period forcing a big second paddle mix. Coverage felt low and the cost is too much for this average result.
Good bond, but hard to hit consistent 6mm layer. Trowel drag slowed us down.
Top kit! Mix/rest time gives a smooth workability that stays solid. Sticks the Mineral Wool dead on, great flex after set.
great mix, bonds proper strong to Wool. Set time tight, 2 hours flew by.
Basecoat is mint. Proper strength for the job. Used it on mineral wool and mesh. Only dropped a star as this batch is a bit darker than the previous order.
Cracking stuff! Strongest basecoat going, mixes brill.
Solid performance but it's djsty and took too long to get the perfect mix.
WRONG BAG!!! Ordered Premium EWI-225 for the Rockwool job but got skme low-spec filler instead. Site's knackered for the day waiting for correct delivery! Useless waste of monfey on idle labour, AW FUL service.
It’s just an OK basecoat, honestly. I was using this on brick and Mineral Wool boards expecting a "premium" product because of the price tag, but it didn't feel like it at all.
The workability was a right faff. It was clumpy out of the bag and mixing it correctly was a fight—the guideline for water is too low, needed to add extra to get a smooth, workable mix. To make things worse, the consistency varied wildly between two bags from the same order. QC seriously needs looking at.
Performance wise, coverage seemed lower than the stated 2.5m2, making it feel expensive per metre square. Didn't grip the Mineral Wool boards as strongly as I needed it to either. Worse still, I got a slight crack in the reinforcement layer when it cured; felt less flexible than expected for all the 'polymer modified' claims. Maybe it just wasn't suited to the heavy Wool, but I've used basecoats that do better for the same cost.
Final gripe was logistics. Pallet arrived damaged, heavy as sin, and the shelf life printed on the bag was close to expiry. For the price, you shouldn't have to spend half your time fixing the mix consistency. Does the job, but skip the 'Premium' part of the name.
proper strength on MW. Zero risk, works good!
Proper gear zero issues with mixing. Held the Mineral Wool tight, well worth paying the extra quid.
ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES. Paif top cdollar for this basecoat but its a complete job stopper in the UK cant use it if its too nippy outside. My delivery arrived ripped product all over the pallet. What mix i did get sorted clumped up fast and hardened in the bucket way before the two hours were up! Worst stuff ever uwsed. Total palava void.
Only basecoat I trust hokds Rockwool mint.
Brill adh, mix was slack.
Sticks tight to MW, spread smooth. Done a proper job.
Brill stuff, solid basecoat/adh. Used it for Mineral Wool fixation and mesh layer. It grabs the min wool boards proper, way better than EWI-220. Had to add a slug more water than the spec sheet said; fight off the trowel, it was stiff otherwise. Strength is great but doesn't flow/feather quite like the super-high polymer stuff that costs 3 quid more per bag. Watch the pot life above 25C, it sets off fast. Only minor complaint: delivery was delayed and one of the bags had split open, lost powder, which is why it's not a five star review.
Spot on mix. Saved a lot of time.
Went on like butter set rock solid. Top!
Mixed well, sound basecoat and proper strong once cured. Worked great sticking the K5 boards. Top-tier material!
Spot on. Held the Rockwool perfectly and gave the mesh a proper key. The system is solid from this basecoat.
Cracking basecoat. Got a serius bite. Worth the few quid extra vs the 220. Made sticking the Mineral Wool easy.
Dead strong MW adh, but needs a bloody rest period.
Switched fro the 220. Much stronger for Rockwool and Kingspan. Spot on.
spot on consistency for bonding and basecoat. Doesn't sag when layering up the 6mm mesh layer. Very strong flexi-bond for the heavy boards.
Cracking dual-use basecoat/adh, holds boards dead straight right off the bat (great tack). Mix got proper stiff in the bucket towards the end of the 2-hr window. Good stuff, but the final price + shipping costs sting.
Strong polymer basecoat adh, but texturre isn't as fine as standard.
Solid stuff. Stronger than the standard muck, spread was a doddle. Top job.
nO call NO email, ZERO warning the basecoat was missed. my site time is expensive i paid lads to wait. This service is utterly SHOCKING get a grip on your deliveries EWI!!!
top kit! Much stronger than 220, gives great grab for the Mineral Wool boards. Sorted!!
mixes well and goes miles. proper sturdy bond. excedes EWI-220 easy. top notch!
Beats competitors easy, sticks fast, and I get a full two hours out of a bucket. Brill stuff!
EWI-225 beds MW insulation brilliantly. Sets rock solid, but beware that short 5 min rest period
t it catchdes you out!
Greqat hold. Better than the 220. Used it for the woodies and its mint.
Proper strong adh with high poly content, but a pain to trowel smooth.
The consistency is spot on straight out the bag, makes working with the mesh dead easy. Brill!
Absolute beast- zero sag on K5 boards- my new go-to.
Brillant stuff for basecoat! Mixed easy. Held Mineral Wool strong and flexible, zero cracks. Saved me a proper headache! 5 star, spot on.
eWI-225 spot on for both Min Wool and K5 boards; the final reinforcement is seriously strong and flexible. Used it up a bit quicker than the 25kg/m2 estimate though slight overburn on site.
Cracking stuff! The strength on the Mineral Wool boards is spot on, no movement later.
Went on like butter, proper strong.
Top gear. Switched entirely from EWI-220, this grips the mesh and Mineral Wool boards properly. Solid.
Brill MW adhesive/basecoat. Strong reinforcement layer, but it's def a steep price.
Decent strength, but trowelling was sticky work and coverage average. Took 2 stars off though
received bags with old manufacture date. Right pain for scheduling, paying top price for near-expired materials.
The polymer content gives brilliant strength once set. But that speed of hardening and the low coverage, makes it a false economy versus cheaper gear.
Proper stick for heavy wool boards. Stronger than 220. Easy workability. Brill!
Proper solid kit for MW boards. High polymer layer feels strong & spreads great. Quality costs, though. Reserved 5th star 'cause it's pricey compared to basic EWI-220.
Pretty happy overall. Brill adh for K5. Stronger than 220, but xosts bit much vs rivals on coverage.
Proper strong stuff. Best basecoat I've used brilliant key.
Brill. The EWI-225 served perfectly as the adhesive for my Mineral Wool boards really strong bond and it mixed up to a lovely workable texture. Felt way better than previous basecoats, that high polymer content is definitely what makes the difference. Achieving the 6mm reinforcement coat was a doddle too, settled the mesh spot on. Worth the bit edtra for the quality you get. I'll stick to this for future jobs.
Top quality adh/basecoat, very strong layer. Had to use more water to get a workable mix. Pot life felt short on site!
strong baes, does the job well. But the 10 min mix rest kills flow.
Cracking kit for render only! Mix is spot on, goes on mint. It's much stronger than the 220, feels rock solid when cured.
Miles stronger than 220, gives a solid key and finish. Used it render only, no bother. Saved labour time.
Miles better than 220 it goes on smooth and dries rock solid. Proper doddle to float the mesh.
eWI-225 is quality gear. Mixed up spot on and was easy spread. Rock solid bond, stuck the K5 boards fast. Better than 220 for sure.
Mixed alright, but the >5.9L guide is sloppy. Needed more water to get proper trowelability. Not really 'Premium'.
Great grab! Slapped up the Mineral Wool boards and the adhesion was spot on right away. The EWI-225 holds those heavy boards solid, saving time and stress. Far superior to the generic cheaper brands I used last time. Proper strong stuff.
Best basecoat used, dead easy to glue the boards and embed mesh. Excellent value for that quality.
Top polymer count. Proper reliable on Mineral Wool boards.
Top marks for quick and easy buying process
Brill! This stuff is spot on for Mineral Wool. Gives a superior bond and spreads way better than cheap alternatives. It's the best I've used.
premium price for dodgy coverage, sets too quick. Rubbish was lumpy, felt like I got 220.
Paid premium for this '225' but it handles like budget 220. Lumpy straight out of the bag and we needed way more water than advertised. Coverage on blockwork was shocking, cost us a fortune. Sets up way too quick even in good conditions; losing consistency after an hour. The basecoat even lifted and crumbled when we tried to adjust the mesh line—no polymer strength whatsoever. Absolute time sink. Get proper accredited kit instead.
great strength on the K5. Hard work skimming the full 6mm, though. Coverage fine. Will buy again.
Proper solid for Mineral Wool/K5 boards. Dead sound adhesion to the RCB didn't fight me on the trowel and the two hour time frame was perfect. Worth the premium wont go back to the cheap tat.
Great basecoat proper strong adhesion.
Better than the 220, this high polymer stuff is proper solid. Held the K5 boards tight. Spot on.
Proper strong fledxible kit!
Finest basecoat available. Great quality mix. Proper stuff.
THIS IS NOT PREMIUM. WHAT A WASTE. bag was rock solid soaked thru from being left in a puddle. i scraped what i could out and the mix was just grainy cement it wasn't an even consistency mortar at all. the strength they promise is an outright lie. my test patch crumbled after setting. it cracked immediately, this isnt flexible reinforcement its just BARELY polymer modified. DREADFUL. total rip off and time sink for my lads. AVOID EWI 225.
Easy to spread consistency! Got the 6mm reinforcement layer sorted dead quick, without faff. Top quality gear.
Proper strength adh/BC, spot on fimish. It was a right slog to trowel, made the arms ache.
Sound EWI kit! It fixed the insulation boards stiff and provided a strong layer. Great workability. Buy this not the cheap stuff.
EWI-225 is spot on. Strong, dead simple mixing and flexibility is class. Far better than EWI-220 I used before.
Couldn't ask for better! Sorted.
Proper strong gear. No faff. Used it on Kingspan K5. Sorted.
225 is rock solid for reinforcement. Too much trowel drag due to polymer and pot life was barely 90 minutes. Costing me time.
Absolute rock-solid stick.
Brilliant bodn strength for the MW system. It's proper solid, but the pot life is tight when it's warm.
absolute MUGGED OFF. This 'Premium' basecoat cost a packet and wouldn't even mix right. Tried to wet-out but it went instantly to solid LUMPS in the bucket. Ended up spending 20 minutes breaking up hard chunks with the paddle mixer—wasted time on the day's graft simple as that. For this price I expect clean mortar immediately. Cheaper bags like Roker U mix better. NEVER buying this EWI stuff again. Rubbish.
Strong adh/basecoat. Not mixing two tubs was a massive time saver.
right total shambles. Rubbish delivery bag was split and the driver was useless. This "premium" mortar was claggy hard to mix. And the coverage rate? Absolute joke, ran out short on Mineral Wool. Wasted labour on this high-cost gear.
Finest gear. Sticks solid.
EWI 225 strongest basecoat by far. Adhesion great for Mineral Wool better than 220
Mixed dead easy, trowelled smooth. Proper strong stuff.
Great stuff. Sets solid. Pot life feels slightly tight, but the durability and flex are spot on.
Thizs 225 sits right up. Proper sharp on the notched trowel for that 6mm bed, zero slump. Ideal grip for K5 boards too. Saved a full hour on tool up.
Strong flexible basecoat. Brill for MW adh real step up. It's too stiff, sticks to the trowel way too much. Cost felt slightly too high for the faff.
solid Min Wool adh. Bit difficult to spread thinly.
Top Quality, Use it on everything. Sorted the basecoat layer grand. Good K5/Rockwool adh too. Top flex. Bit fussy on the water mix.
Top stuff. Stuck the Mineral Wool rock solid.
Mixing, rest time, then mixing again—sorted. Went on easy with the notched trowel and embedded the mesh perfectly. Highly recommend.
Premium flex and adhesion. Cost is a bit high for tnhis kit.
Miles better than the old 220. Rock solid for Kingspan. Sorted.
Proper oslid bond sticks a treat.
Strongest basecoat for MW. Much better quality than the 220, holds everything solid. Right job sorted. Worth every penny.
Mix was spot on and it stays workable for ages, proper time saver. Gives a high-strength bond needed for Mineral Wool. Can't fault this gear. Top-tier material!
Top-spec basecoat for Kingspan K5. Polymer content definitely works bond is super strong. It is brilliant quality but the price point is high and coverage rate was only hitting 4kg/m
for me.
proper solid adh; feels heavily polymerised vs 220. Working time was spot on. Bit dearer, but strength means no callbacks. Recommended.
Render only or K5 boards bang on.
Spot on gear. Basecoat's sound and strong. Driver helped with bags.
Cracking stuff, sound as.
Used 3-dab method on the MW, boards stuck like glue! But it's a right pig to clean the tools afterwards—shorter open time than stated.
Cracking high strength basecoat. Worth the extra cash proper gear. Only loses a star as it's stiff when cold & needed more water for porous block.
Proper dstrong mix for the boards. Superior finish dead easy to get.
Proper basecoat, rock solid adhesion. Sorted.
Proper strength for the Rockwool job. Zero cracking great flexibility. Chuffed!
Simply the best basecoat.
Brilliant gear. Stronger than EWI-220 as promised. Just wish the open time wasn't so tight on a sunny afternoon job.
Proper aquality adh for Min Wool. Mixn needed more elbow grease than expected, but the real issue was the driver being late.
Mixed easy, gave solid grab on the Rockwool. Proper premium kit that’s worth the price.
Rock-solid. Highly recommend!
Proper good stuff! It spreads a treat, and the bond onto the heavy boards is rock solid.
Brilliant stuff. Stronger than EWI-220, used it for K5 boards and render only. Mixed up splot on, absolutely rock solid.
paid premium for EWI-225 got rubbish. Cracking on curing and zero flex. Reckon it's old stock barely held the mineral wool. Stock control needed avoid this lot.
Rock solid bond. Stronger than 220, easy.
Proper quality basecoat. Mixed perfect and spread dead easily when fixing Rockwool and fibreglass mesh. Stronger than the old 220 total confidence now. A cut above the rest!
mISSED the delivery by a MILE. Completely SHAFTED my achedule. Awful.
Stuck down a treat, sorted.
This base mixes creamy, trong, flexible. Right sorted the whole job.
Right adhesive for K5 boards.
EWI-225 mixes fine spreads easy a doddle to apply. Proper rock solid basecoat.
Worth every penny! Loved that basecoat/adhesive mix process is the exact same. Strong flexible finish too.
Solid gear. Brilliat grab on rockwool, worth the extra quid.
Proper job premium kit. Polymer content gives this superb flexibility, strength is amazing. Didn't get slump with K5. Five Stars!
ADH quality strong for MW. Top gfar!
Swapped out my usual adhesive for this EWI-225 on a big Mineral Wool job. Wish I'd done it ages ago. The quality difference is clear, you can feel the extra polymer strength in the mix—it bonds the heavy Rockwool perfectly. Consistency is top tier after the quick 10 min rest time, and it accepts the scrim beautifully without fighting or dragging the coat thin. Saved us serious time embedding the mesh. It's an excellently reliable, professional-grade basecoat. Proper job. Will exclusively use this one now.
Worth paying extra for. 225 is much better than the 220, better working time and grabs proper on Kingspan K5.
Consistency spot on, spread smoothly, sticks like mad. Excellent value.
"Premium" my are. Absolute waste of money. Mix was gritty sludge took way more wate than spec said. Lost its workability quick definitely not a 2hr pot luife! Cured weak/chalky and zego flexibility for EWI work. V expensive pig to use.
Brill basecoat for Mineral Wool. Easy to mix no slumping makes achieving the 6mm so simple. Great key for the render, switched to this now.
Top Basecoat/Adh - Proper Strong. Top strength basecoat. Used for Min Wool adh. Great bond, good 2hr pot life. Bit stiff to skim perfectly flat though. Price is decent for the strength. Mixing wait is a small faff. Sorted.
Quality gear, a bit pricey.
Proper basecoat. Fex and adh is sorted. Just on the brickwork sub coverage only hit 2.2m².
Stronger than the 220, used it for K5 boards. Proper grab. Dead solid stuff!
Mixes up spot on, saves us time. Proper strong grab on the K5 oard. Worth the extra few quid for the quality.
Solid stuff no sticky trowel saved me time
Good adh/key & strong. Price is high, plus I prefer the *feel* of another manufacturer
’s mix, to be honest.
A right palaver trying to order this. The website's a maze and took 30 mins just to confirm VAT & delivery cost. Won't bother with that hassle again.
Solid stuff, sticky to trowel.
brilliant grab for the Min Wool, but the pot life feels a bit tight for my schedule.
ok for strength but the water mix spec is a joke, sloppy first pour. Used way more material than they say. Delivery bags were damaged too.
tWO WEEKS for a wet bag that cracked on curing! That eTrrix muck does twice the coverage and has basat fibres, so WHY pay EWI Pro's premium?! Customer service is an absolute SHAMBLES. NEVER AGAIN.
Solid bond on MR. Much stronger than the 220 worth every penny.
Proper strong stuff, great value given how little material you actually use vs competitors. Adhered Min Wool dead on. Spreadability needs work tho.
Top quality material! Mixed great, sticks solid, superb strength.
This Premium Basecoat gives a rock solid 6mm layer. Never fails with Rockwool. Tidy finish sorted.
Dries rock solid. Brill kit.
Sticks a treat to the Mineral Wool & K5 boards strong stuff. Proper premium compared to 220, but the price point is a bit high and 2.5m² coverage felt tight.
Ussed it for Rockwool adhesive and render base. Mixed up well, set rock solid. Saves me time. Brilliant!
This EWI-225 is quality, proper strong hold for the MW. Coverage was bang on.
adhesion for Kingspan K5/Mineral Wool is outdtanding. Polymer strength makes it top-notch —a doddle to mix too. Won't use anything else!!
top basecoat no messing. Went on like butter then sets firm. Stickin with this.
Too high price, needed stronger paddle mixer. Only covered 2.5m2/bag on brick. Average.
proper high strength adh, held up well to a surprise downpour, but it takes serious graft getting it flat across large runs.
Brilliant! Proper premium basecoat stuck my K5 boards rock solid easy to mix no lumps.
Miles stronger than 220. Spot on dual purpose great grab for K5/Rockwool. Proper good kit.
Go-to basecoat now. Sorted every board type.
wipes the floor with the 220. Brill.
Biss adh, solid K5 stick. Two hour pot life is way too quick, had to rush the basecoat layer. Good polymer mix though, worth it.
Spot on basecoat. Proper job, sets tough.
Quality base/adh. Cures rock solid thanks to that cement content. Needed a bit extra water on the mix to trowel proper, mind.
Solid grip on Mineral Wool panels. Basecoat layer is real strong.
A cracking bit of kit, held the Rockwool solid! Much better workability than the 220.
brill! Cracking strength adhesive it's proper solid for the K5 and basecoat.
AWFUL! promised next day delivery then zeo call and they failed to turn up. Waisted a whole days graft sitting on ite waiting for them. absolute joke!
Much stronger basecoat than rivals I've used. Grips hard and works ewll with Mineral Wool boards, a proper job, sorted.
Miles better than EWI-220. Worth the premium price. Mixed perfectly and went on smooth, sets rock hard.
Finest basecoat I've worked with! Mixed easy and adhesion for the Mineral Wool was superb. Very strong, worth the money.
This 225 is bang on, mate. Great coverage and rock solid for mesh work. No lumps mixing!
Top stuff, mate. Used it as adhesive and basecoat, sorted! Saved hours.
strong & flexible mix for K5 boards adhered perfectly. Bit pricey and the delivery was xlow.
Brill! Quality is unmatched, way better than the 220. Solid stuff and spot on open time.
Proper good EWI adheisve, spot on.
Top gear. Used it on the mineral wool, bolted solid. Miles better than the basic 220 kit. Worth the extra few quid.
Best base I've used. Brill.
This gear clung to the wall solid. Perfect natural key so I avoided priming—that's money and time saved. Switching permanent!
Top grade for 'render only' base. Quality pays.
Premium? Aye. My new go-to EWI adhesive.
Cracking basecoat! Proper strong stuff, stuck the Rockwool on spot on. Big upgrade from EWI-220.
Rock solid bond for Kingspan K5. Top quality basecoat and it saved us time.
Solid high-polymer mix. Stronger than 220 for fixing Mineral Wool. Workability felt tight.
Cracking stuff much better than the alternatives. Mixed well sets solid and looks spot on!
Used it on K5, stuck rock solid.
Brill strength. Sorted the K5 boards.
Top BC/adh. Way stronger than 220 for render only jobs. The 10 min mix wait is slow but the finished layer is rock solid.
coverage awful, strength decent but it was gritty & mix slumped. hitting 6mm layer wasterd loads of bags.
PREMIUM is a JOKE! WEAKER than the old 220. Set hard in 40 mins. £23.
EWI-225 spot on for K5 board. Shame delivery was late.
Best basecoat I've ever used. Held those heavy Mineral Wool boards absolutely no bother. Proper strong gear.
Used this for Min Wool slabs. It spreads dead easy and cures proper solid. Top quality material.
this is the strong gear! Perfect consistency straight away, saved so much prep time. Brill.
Superb strength and flexibility!
Proper solid base. Premium feel is there. Needs the full restir/wait, that
is all.
works good on K5 and Mineral Wool. Proper rock-solid base, zero sagging! Brill!
Mixed dead easy, very happy with coverage. This skim is proper strong and held the K5 boards secure. Go-to basecoat now!
Solid adh for MW and strong. But the wet mix was sloppy; coverage seemed light.
Proper kit, trowels lovely.
Good adh but heavy load. Duistracted staff.
Swapped for EWI-225 after struggling on mineral wool boards. Miles better, sticks like rock. Flexible finished layer. Top quality.
Worth the switch from EWI-220, no contest. Proper solid basecoat, sticks mint to Kingspan K5 boards! Go-to now.
Proper strong key. Top kit.
Great stuff! Mixed lovely and went on like butter for EWI. Rock solid set for the boards and mesh base layer. My new go-to product.
Best basecoat I've used. Proper flexible polymer-mix holds K5 and Rockwool solid. Consistency made the 6mm mesh skim easy, far better than cheaper render-only options.
### ★★★★ Proper Strong Basecoat
Fired this up for fixing Kingspan K5 and the final reinforcement scratch coat. I agree this 225 is superior to the 220; that high polymer binder content gives you a solid finish definitely feels **rock solid** once it's set no chance of movement. The bag mixes up nice and consistent every time.
Just one gripe when it was proper warm out the working time felt too short and I was having to rush bags. Also found the coverage when fixing boards came in slightly under par (hit about 4.8kg/m2). Decent value for the quality, cheers.
Stuck solid n' seemed strong enuff. OK on the Rockwool. But cleaning the hawk and trwoels took proper ages, rinsing straight away didn't help. Just added unnedessary graft at end of shift.
Premium adhesive quality, dead easy on the MW boards. Coverage felt short, and waiting on technical backup when site stuck costs serious moneu.
Brill stuff! Consistency was spot on after mixing and easy to trowel onto the substrate. Adhesion is proper strong for render only jobs, sound!
top tier basecoat! Mixes well and cures rock hard.
Mix is spot on, saved loads of time. Strong bond on Rockwool.
Proper strong BC for K5/Rockwool. Excellent polymer key. But cover rate was tight + had to cheat the water slightly for smoother trowelling.
Wood fibre boards hepld dead fast. Quality kit.
It’s an OK mix but spreading it was a bit of a git, feot grainy (inconsistent particlwes?). Had to use way over 6L of watre. The usable time is miles shotr of two housr, set too quick and coverage suffered. Bit steep for this much hassle.
Solid basecoat, worked well for MW. Clean up was dead easy.
Worth the cost for the strength, miles better than that EWI-220 muck. Holds the insulation dead on.
Wicked stuff. Mixed up nice to a proper creamy consistency; leaving it the ten mins soak made all the difference. Used it to fix the Mineral Wool boards and for the reinforced layer and its dead strong and flexible now its dry.
The biggest thing is I know its vapour open so I don't gotta worry bout trapping damp inside. That long term confidence makes the price well worth it. New go-to basecoat sorted.
Proper gear. Strong grab for the Rockwool and mixing was easy. Sets rigid, sound finish, no complaints.
The mix was a faff; setting took too long. Not Premium enough for the cost.
Proper strong adh, much better flex than 220. Great for MW boards. Yield felt tight/pricey for general base & water mix instructions are too vague.
holds heavy boards solid.
Brill Adh/Basecoat. Sticks perfectly, dead solid for the min wool. Loads of polymer in it, so the strength is spot on.
Needed an extra few min smoothing the skim coat vs. what I usually use; wasn't as buttery smooth off the trowel, felt a bit gritty. Four stars 'cos the finish was harder work than needed, but it does the job.
Cracking gear. Makes a seriously strong basecoat layer. Absolutely no worries about long-term callbacks.
So glad I paid extra for the Premium version! Felt way stronger than the 220 no cracking. Brill!
great strength for K5/Rockwool. Better than 220 gives a quality strong finish.
Brill!!! Top gear. The K5 boards ain't going anywhere. Way better than 220.
Locks dow Kingspan K5 nice. Cracking stuff.
This basecoat is proper gear. Amazing grab, held the heavy Mineral Wool tight and a dream to skim. Way better than the standard 220!
Proper strong stuff. Used for wol and render, works sound.
Brill stuff. Much easier to trowel than the EWI-220, gives a sound, strong reinforcement key for the render. Used slightly more water than 5.9L for a decent bag-up, mind.
Right then this EWI-225 is serious quality. Grips the heavy Mineral Wool well, layer sets solid.
Brill. Swapped from 220 to 225 & the grip is amazing on Mineral Wool. Perfect key and easy flat finish. Solid.
Premium stuff. Perfect grab for Rockwool boards, miles better than the 220 muck.
Cracking stuff! Mixed up bob on with the rest time. Proper flexible and held the Rockwool solid. Miles better than the similar cheap basecoat I used last time. Sorted.
EWI-225 gives a proper solid flexible finish. Smooth mix, zero slump. Easy to embed mesh. Top notch.
Stronger than 220. Went on like butter.
Proper strong stuff, bang on.
ePS good brick too rough.
Cracking bond strength! Worth it.
for a premium adhesive this is poor, mate. The mix instruction (>5.9L) is a huge faff—never got the consistency right. Dries too quickly and ended up feeling brittle after curin, no flexibility. Plus it's heavy muck.
Swapped from EWI-220. Best grab adhesive I've used. Runs great for mesh embedding. Set is flexible and strong!
Brill quality. Proper job.
went on like butter, shtrong.
Miles stronger than the cheap stuff and mixed a doddle. Didn't slump a bit. Worth every penny.
this is abolute rubbish. the warehouse dude rulned the dry mix having a SMOKE BREAK the bag was wet. the basecoat set solid immediately didn't obnd to the carrier board AT ALL. total waste of gime.
Amazing! Highly recommend!
strong basecoat. Trowels well and sets quick. Value is spot on for the quality.
right, top tier stuff. Mixed perfect, no lumps at all. Used it for Mineral Wool boards and reinforcement layer, rock solid when dry. Proper quality kit.
Rock solid adhesion! Much stronger than EWI-220.
Decent. Just dunno if it's much better than standard EWI-220.
Worth the extra few quid for this. Goes on spot on and holds the Mineral Wool solid. Proper tough stuff.
Strongest basecoat I've used. Took the K5 boards like a champ & the final reinforcement is rock solid. Brill.
Cracking stuff. Proper job!
Best adhesive used, doesn't sag. Quality kit.
It
Rois proper strong and spreads beautifully. Saved loads of time on the mesh, top product!
EWI-225 is top kit. Went on like butter and sets rock solid. Held the K5 boards tight- sound quality from EWIPro as always.
Mixes sound applies like butter. Rock solid adhesion on my insulation, great stuff!
proper strength basecoat. Good durable finish.
EWI-225 is spot on for strength/K5. Bit expensive though.
Proper gear this is. Mixed up spot on, perfect consistency. Trowelled on a dream for the Mineral Wool boards adn made a cracking reinforcement layer. Sets rock-solid but stays flexible, which you need. Miles better than EWI-220 for the tough jobs. Sound quality.
Top-level strength/flex. Noticeably better than EWI-220 kit. Bit expensive, but pays off against future call backs.
Proper job basecoat! Consistency spot on. So much better than 220.
Brilliant EWI-225. Strength is bang on and takes the mesh like a dream. Bit of a pig on the working time, 2 hours goes quick when covering large elevations. Good value though.
