EWI-330 Mineral & Acrylic Primer

This deep-penetrating primer is designed for final preparation of surfaces prior to applying EWI Pro mineral, acrylic and mosaic renders. It strengthens the substrate, limits and balances its absorptive capacity without compromising breathability. It facilitates rendering plaster coats and enhances their adhesion to substrates. EWI-330 can be pigmented to match the colour of the render.

Application

Substrate Preparation: All substrates must have appropriate load-bearing capacity, be compact, stable, even, free of dust, grease, anti-adhesive agents, remaining paint, mould, algae, moss, etc., scratches and salt efflorescence and uniformly dry. All contamination resulting from grease, oil, anti-adhesive agents should be cleaned by washing with water containing detergent. The surface should be cleaned with a wire brush to avoid biological contamination. Scratched and cracked surfaces should be repaired with repair and patching mortar. Mortar applied to repaired sites should be dry and well-bonded. Highly absorptive and sandy substrates should be covered with EWI-301 and allowed to dry for at least 12 -24 hours prior to priming with EWI-330. Surfaces that will not be rendered should be protected prior to priming.

Product preparation: Mix thoroughly before use. The primer must not be thinned with water or mixed with any other materials.

Application: Apply EWI-330 primer uniformly to the substrate by painting method using a roller or brush and allow to dry. Render should be applied only after the primed surface is allowed to dry for 24 hours. Works must not be carried out at ambient temperatures below +5°C, works on elevations must not be carried out during rain or snow, strong winds and in direct sunlight, without special shields to limit exposure to weather conditions. Recently rendered coats must be protected against rain, frost and over-rapid drying.

Caution! The colour of the render primer may be slightly different from render colour itself when the same pigments are used.
