    EWI-240 EPS Adhesive 750ml

EWI-240 EPS Adhesive 750ml is a one-component-low-pressure Polyurethane Graphite Adhesive PPU-2, designed for fixing XPS and graphite EPS boards for the insulation of facades and foundations.

    Properties

    • Easy and convenient to use
    • For bonding insulation boards on facades and foundations enables anchoring 2 hours after application, full curing 24 hours after application
    • Very good adhesion to bitumen and any mineral substrates
    • Excellent adhesion to concrete, mineral, ceramic, plaster, etc.
    • Works in a wide temperature range

    Intended Uses

EPS Adhesive is used for bonding graphite Styrofoam boards on facade installations for thermal insulation of external walls, polystyrene panels, wall panels, installation of windows sills, and filling gaps in the insulation. Additionally, EPS Adhesive is also used for bonding Styrofoam boards for insulation on building foundations using extruded polystyrene (XPS). EPS Adhesive has excellent adhesion to concrete, ceramic, wood, PVC, and all types of Styrofoam and plasters. Please allow up to 2 hours after applying EPS Adhesive before continuing work. The boards should then be polished with abrasive paper and additional mechanical fixings. The total curing time is 24 hours.

    Application

Surfaces must be free of dust, debris, and other materials that would impair the bond strength. Check the adhesion of the existing paint or plaster, as you must remove any old layers. Before using, ensure the can temperature is above zero (optimum +20°C). Shake the can vigorously for 30 seconds to mix the components. Screw the gun on the can. Hold the can upside-down during application.

Fixing graphite expanded polystyrene boards (EPS) on facade installations

Before adhering the polystyrene board to the substrate, you must install a starter track. For foamed polystyrene facade insulation adhesion, apply a bead of EPS Adhesive (approx. 3cm wide) around the perimeter of polystyrene boards (approx. 2cm from the edge), with an additional bead across the centre of the board. Make about 5cm breaks in strings, as shown in Figure 1. Join the board with the wall right after the product application (up to 3 mins), press slightly, and adjust using a long straightedge. The board position can be corrected (without removing it from the bonding surface) within 4 minutes of joining it to the wall. In the case of detachment from the surface, apply EPS Adhesive again. At lintels and corners, support the boards until the bond cures. After 2 hours, the boards should be polished with abrasive paper and fixed with special mechanical fixings. Fill the gaps between boards using EPS Adhesive.

    Fixing of Thermo-Insulation to Foundation

Before bonding the boards at low temperatures, remove the frost from the surface. In the case of substrates coated with bitumen, check the adhesion. The base bitumen must be seasoned and well-connected, and any moisture should be evaporated entirely. For adhesion of extruded polystyrene foam XPS on foundations, apply EPS Adhesive in 4 vertical beads (shown in Figure 2) approx. 3cm wide, maintaining an equal spacing of 20-30cm. Ensure 3cm clearance from the board's edge (for boards wider than 100cm, you should apply more bead braids). Join the board with the wall right after the product application (up to 3min.), press slightly, and adjust using a long straightedge. The board position can be corrected (without removing from the bonding surface) within 4 minutes of joining it to the wall. In the case of detachment from the surface, apply EPS Adhesive again. At lintels and corners, support the boards until the bond cures. After 2 hours, the boards are ready for further processing. Additional mechanical fixings are required in the plinth area and along the edge of the building. Fill the gaps between boards using EPS Adhesive.

Cracking stuff. Made short work of the EPS install, proper time saver over traditional mortar. The bead size stayed strong right until the end of the can. No sputtering or waste, which is the main thing for me. Sticks a treat on the blockwork, held well even when it was a bit nippy this morning. The 4 min adjustment window lets you get the boards bang on level. Definitely recommend it.

    ## EWI-240 EPS Adhesive 750ml Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Job done perfectly, saved time.** This adhesive is the real deal. Had a big run of graphite EPS boards and this knocked it out fast. Anchor time was bang on the 2 hours as promised, meaning no hanging around waiting to pin the fixings. What sold me over competitors (like that cheaper Bond It stuff) is the temp range. We were sticking panels down when it was about -3°C first thing and this adhesive handled it with no bother. It grabs immediately and holds tight on concrete and even old plaster. Good low-pressure application too, zero expansion blow out on the corners, which is always a bonus. Coverage rate was exactly what I expected. Top stuff. Already planned to reorder for the next phase.

Adhesion is decent once you get there, but its not a clean foam to work with. Application was messy and the bead size was all over the shop, wasted loads of product. Took longer than 2hrs before I could mechanical fix it. Annoying having to buy the aplicator gun separate also. ok coverage

Used this for XPS on the foundations. Way better than the cheap foam that spits in the cold. Anchor time at two hours is abng on for mechanical fixings. Reliability over pure speed any day. Brilliant kit.

This EWI-240 is sound stuff for the EPS massive time saver. The initial grab is decent, makes fitting boards quick before chasing them down. Gave it 4 stars cos the muck-away cleanup was thirsty for solvent; ended up dipping into the cleaner budget hard just getting the nozzle tip mkint. Proper job otherwise.

Got this specifically for the low expansion on the EPS, and fair play, it works a treat. Great initial tack on the substrate, covered slightly more area than advertised. The PU itself is brilliant, sorted the job quickly. Only dropping a star 'cause holding the can upside-down all day is a nightmare G needs a proper grip for sustained use.

Right then product arrived. This EWI-240 stuff is cracking good kit for the price stuck fast and proper solid on the concrete blockwork even with the temperature dropping. The 4 minute window to shift the boards around before it properly locks down is a godsend; saved me a lot of faffing about. Great strong bond should last years. Now the gripes which knocked a star off: It felt a bit heavy on the wrist and I had to nearly break myself trying to shake the can hard enough to mix it up plus the valve was stiff initially. Also it seemed to drink faster than the advertised 8m2—ended up needing a second can sooner than expected. The cure time also took a shade longer than two hours before I felt safe polishing the boards. Look, it performed almost perfectly, but next time I'm factoring in either a faster tin or one with a built-in trigger so I don't have to wrestle another gun out of the van. Nearly perfect, that's a 4 from me. Job done.

Great stuff. Dead reliable. The adh on the blockwork and mineral substrate was brilliant saved me a fair bit of time on anchoring later. It sticks fast to the graphite boards as promised and I was pleased I could start mechanical fixings after just two hours as advertised for my project timeline. It performed well in colder temps too which was handy. Only docked a star as the can felt like it ran out quicker than I wanted—coverage is questionable for rough walls, and its a bit of a messy faff to apply consistently compared to a mortar mix. The cost is also pushed up when you factor in needing to buy the specific foam gun separately. Performance of the foam itself is proper top tier, though.
