Rockwool Rollbatt is made up of medium density stone wool insulation. This loft insulation material offers acoustic insulating properties, as well as outstanding fire performance. The acoustic properties of Rockwool Rollbatt mean that it absorbs sound, preventing noise travelling through roof spaces into internal spaces. Rockwool is also rated as Euroclass A1 non-combustible; the insulation acts as a fire barrier, increasing escape times and limiting damage to the property.
The Rollbatt is manufactured in pre-cut widths of 400mm (x3) or 600mm (x2), in thicknesses of 100mm and 150mm. Rockwool Rollbatt is suitable for a wide range of applications
Thickness (mm) | Width (mm) | Boards per pack | m2 per pack |
100 | 400 | 3 | 5.76 |
150 | 400 | 2 | 4.38 |
100 | 600 | 3 | 5.76 |
150 | 600 | 2 | 4.38 |
Rockwool Insulation Rollbatt should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines – these should cover design and all aspects of the application of the insulation. Loft insulation should not be placed directly under cold water tanks. To preserve the continuity of the loft insulation, loft hatch covers should be insulated with a minimum 100mm thickness of Rockwool – we recommend using double-sided adhesive tape to hold the insulation in place.
To minimise heat loss through the timbers, Rockwool Insulation Rollbatt should be cross-layered between and over the ceiling joists, which are normally spaced at 400mm or 600mm centres. The second layer of Rollbatt is then cross-layered to cover the first layer of insulation and the ceiling joists.
Shelf life: please see the manufacturer’s date of expiry. Keep in a dry place, in the original packaging. Avoid excess heat or UV light exposure.
