Rockwool is a breathable insulation board designed for external application. Ideal for a number of different wall types and easy to install, consider this premium product for your installation.
Available in 100mm and 120mm thicknesses, Rockwool is a tried-and-tested way to insulate, and has been used for decades. These boards are specifically designed to survive in exposed environments and under the toughest conditions.
Rockwool is also non combustible.
Our mineral wool insulation by Rockwool is a resilient, hard-wearing insulating material. It is perfect for a wide range of wall applications. The Rockwool Duo Slab has two layers, designed to withstand the most severe climate conditions. Mineral wool requires minimal fixings because of its unique design – although we recommend at least 5.5 fixings per m2. Mineral wool has the added advantage of being an ‘open vapour’ insulating material. It is therefore more breathable than other insulation systems and also has fire retardant properties. Rockwool ventilated facades are suitable for a wide range of building types, including domestic properties and multi-storey commercial buildings.

Rockwool insulation slabs should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions – these includes guidelines on design and other aspects of application. We recommend the boards are fixed to the substrate with mortar/adhesive and mechanical fixings to ensure maximum adhesion.
Because of the greater weight of mineral wool we advise that you use the EWI-225 Premium MW Adhesive for the application rather than a standard adhesive, which is used on lighter insulating materials. Apply a light, watery based coat of the adhesive to your prepared surface initially. When it is dry, apply the basecoat, then sink in the fibre glass mesh.
Use an industrial hoover to clean-up the mineral wool fibres.
The Mineral wool comes in packs of 2 sheets in 600mmx1200mm slabs
