Kingspan K103 Floorboard

Kingspan K103 is a premium performance, rigid thermoset phenolic insulation board for application onto beam, block and concrete timber floors. Kooltherm K103 is faced on both sides with a glass tissue facing, which is bonded to the phenolic insulation core during manufacture; the core itself offers unrivalled thermal performance with its thermal conductivity of o.o18W/m2K.

The K103 insulation boards have a compressive strength that exceeds 120kPa, making them incredibly durable and longlasting. The boards also offer the benefit of being resistant to solvents, fungi and rodents, making them capable of lasting throughout the lifespan of the building.

Kingspan K103 provides an insulating performance that is up to five times better than commonly used insulation materials. This is because it offers high levels of thermal performance with minimal thickness, therefore less internal space is required.

Application

Kooltherm K103 floor insulation boards should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines – these should cover design and all aspects of the application of the insulation. Floorboards should be fixed over joists prior to fitting Kingspan Koolherm K103 floorboard from below. The insulation boards should be cut to fit snugly between the floor joists, then push the cut insulation boards between the joists so that they are flush with the underside of the floorboards. Any gaps between boards should be filled with expanding urethane sealant.
