These metal pin mechanical fixings are screwed in rather than hammered in. The screw fixings come in 8 different lengths depending on the thickness of the insulation materials used. The fixing anchor should always travel at least 35mm into the substrate. Made from plastic bodies and metal screws, they reduce thermal bridging to a minimum, ensuring that the system stays as effective as possible, however since the rod is metal they provide a huge amount of strength (metal pin fixings are suitable to support our mineral wool insulation systems).
EWI-730 Metal Mechanical Fixings (metal pin, plastic body) come in a choice of 8 lengths, allowing them to be used on a variety of thicknesses of insulation. The metal mechanical fixing is made from a metal screw with plastic bodies, which means that they reduce thermal bridging within the system. The metallic rods are screwed in, which gives the system stability while reducing the impact on the system when fixing it in place.

The metal mechanical fixing is used to fix the insulating boards to the substrates. With a metal rod and plastic body, they keep thermal bridging down to a minimum, which means that the system maintains its insulating qualities.
These mechanical fixings are suitable for concrete, brick and other blockwork. If in doubt about the suitability of the substrate it is recommended a pull test is carried out to ensure it is strong enough to support an EWI system.
