Our Silicone Silicate Primer (EWI-333) is designed for the final preparation of surfaces prior to applying EWI Pro Silicone Silicate products. It bonds dusty surfaces, regulates absorptive capacity and reduces the required quantity of render. The product should not used on organic substrates, e.g. dispersion (emulsion) paint coats, wood and similar surfaces.
This is a 7kg tub, however 21kg tubs are also available.
This EWI-333 Silicone Silicate (SiSi) Primer is a deep-penetrating primer used to prepare the substrate prior to the application of Silicone Silicate renders – the primer does not contain solvents. EWI-333 Silicone Silicate Primer strengthens the substrate and limits its absorptive capacity without compromising breathability. It facilitates the application of render and enhances the render’s adhesion to the substrate. The SiSi Render Primer can also be dyed according to match the final colour of the render. It is suitable for both interior and exterior surfaces.

It bonds dusty surfaces, regulates absorptive capacity and reduces the required quantity of plaster mortar. The product should not used on organic substrates, e.g. dispersion (emulsion) paint coats, wood and similar surfaces.
Composition: Potassium Silicate disolved in water, acrylic resin, quartz aggregate and pigments
Bulk density: approx. 1.50 g/cm3
Application temperature (air, substrate, materials): from +5°C to +25°C
Coat drying time: approx. 4 hours
Time to plastering: approx. 24 hours after priming
Colour: white or another plaster-matching colour (recommended for plaster with scratch-effect finish)
Quantity to be used: approx. 0.2 – 0.3 kg/m2 depending on substrate structure and absorbency)
Substrate Preparation: All substrates must have appropriate load-bearing capacity, be compact, stable, even, free of dust, grease, anti-adhesive agents, remaining paint, mould, algae, moss, etc., scratches and salt efflorescence and uniformly dry. All contamination resulting from grease, oil, anti-adhesive agents should be cleaned by washing with water containing detergent. Biological contamination should also be eliminated, and then cleaned by mechanical action. Scratched and cracked surfaces should be repaired with levelling mortar EWI-260 or another mortar suitable for the substrate. Mortar applied to repaired sites should be dry and well-bonded. Surfaces that will not be plastered should be secured prior to priming against etching effects of non-hardened water glass on wood, metal, glass, ceramics, stone, etc.
Product preparation: Mix thoroughly before use. The product must not be thinned with water or any other materials.
Application: Apply EWI- 333 uniformly to the substrate by painting method using a roller or brush and allow to dry. Plaster mortar should be applied after the primed surface is allowed to dry for 24 hours. Works must not be carried out at ambient temperatures below +5°C, works on elevations must not be carried out during rain or snow, strong winds and in direct sunlight, without special shields to limit exposure to weather conditions. Recently rendered coats must be protected against rain, frost and over-rapid drying. Caution! Colour of plaster base may be slightly different from plaster colour and the body colour of plaster base is not as efficient as that of paint. A full selection of thermal insulation products should be used.

Shelf life: up to 12 months from the date of manufacture. Keep dry and in the original packaging at a temperature of +5°C to +25°C.
Alkaline pH after mixing with water. Avoid contact with skin. Wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash with water. Wear suitable protective gloves and clothing.
