The Heritage Mortar is a lime-enhanced, fibre-reinforced mortar intended for use as a putty and for renovation/restoration of decorative features to fill cavities and cracks within a façade. Because of the presence of reinforcing fibres within the mortar, it offers high grip and quick adhesion to a universal variety of surfaces. The presence of lime within the Heritage Mortar also offers a level of breathability which is essential within heritage and restoration buildings to maintain structural integrity. Lime has a porosity which allows for vapour permeability and it is also a natural resource, therefore offering the appealing element of environmental friendliness.
The Heritage Lime Mortar comes as a dry mix in 25kg bags. The bag needs to be mixed with 6 litres of clean potable water using an electric paddle mix. It is recommended the render is mixed for 2-3 minutes to achieve the required consistency. Heritage Lime Mortar is then ready for use. When hardened, the product should not be re-mixed with fresh material.
Before application, ensure that the substrate is clean and free of salts, dust, debris and paints. We recommend priming the substrate with the EWI-310 Universal Primer to ensure adhesion. The Heritage Lime Mortar can be applied up to a total thickness of 2-15mm. The mortar should be applied to the substrate using a plastering trowel or spray machine
