EWI-260 Levelling Mortar is supplied as ready-to-use dry mixture of portland cement, mineral fillers and modifying supplements that combined provide a superior levelling grout used to prepare an uneven surface prior to priming or applying a solid wall insulation system. EWI-260 can be used on un-even surfaces up to a maximum undulation of 50mm.
EWI-260 Levelling Mortar is used to prepare an uneven substrate prior to applying render for EWI-Pro solid wall insulation systems. The levelling mortar can be used for repairing and filling cavities in walls and can be used either indoors or outdoors. Made from a mixture of Portland cement and mineral fillers, EWI-260 Levelling Mortar can be used to achieve an even surface on substrates with a variation of up to 50mm.
Substrate primer: EWI- 301
Application temperature (air, substrate, materials): from +5°C to +25°C
Water mix proportions: approx. 4.0 litres of water per 25 kg of dry mix
Time of usability after mixing with water: approx. 1 hour (temp. +20°C)
Quantity to be used: approx. 1.8 kg/m2 per 1mm of layer thickness (dry mix)
Substrate Preparation: Substrates for fixing insulation panels must have sufficient load-bearing capacity, be stable and free of contamination which might affect the adhesion properties of the mortar e.g. dust, oil, moss, loose and peeling paint or plaster coats. Remove all loose or peeling plaster coats. The wall surface, plastered or not, should be cleaned by with a wire brush as necessary and rinsed with water and allowed to dry. Highly absorptive and dusty substrates should be primed with EWI-301.
Product preparation: Slowly add the dry mixture to a container with clean cool water, stir by slow-speed mechanical mixer to achieve a uniform, lump-free consistency. Allow to cure for about 5 minutes and then mix again thoroughly.
Apply EWI-260 levelling mortar to the substrate with a trowel up to a maximum thickness of 50mm. Smooth out the layer to prepare a level surface ready for further works. EWI-260 needs to be left for a minimum of 48 hours before any more works are carried out.
